Many travellers find packing for a destination wedding, honeymoon or holiday completely overwhelming! Holidaying in Fiji has put together a comprehensive Fiji Packing List, to help you get prepared and feel organised in the lead up to your departure. Please disregard any items that do not apply to you.

ESSENTIALS

Passports, tickets, itineraries, insurance

Credit cards/money (or equivalent) 

Driver's license

Cameras, camera memory cards/chargers/batteries

Phone, phone chargers

Any regular medications (carry a Dr's note/prescription just to be safe!)

FOR YOUR FIJIAN WEDDING

  • Wedding gown (take as hand luggage)

  • Shoes

  • Bride's accessories - Headpiece, veil, jewellery, lingerie, garter, perfume, make-up, hair brush/hair accessories, toothbrush/toothpaste, deoderant, reception dress/shoes (if required), personalised coathangers

  • Groom's suit

  • Groom's shoes

  • Groom's accessories - Shirt, vest, tie, belt, cuff links, socks, cologne, hairstyling products, shaving equipment/accessories, hair brush/hair accessories, toothbrush/toothpaste, deoderant

  • Prescription glasses and/or contact lenses & accessories

  • Rings/ring box (hand luggage)

  • Vows

  • Miscellaneous items - DIY styling pieces, seating charts, guest book, cake topper, guest favours/gifts, Ipods/music playlists, speakers & connections for music (if required)

  • Copies of wedding related receipts and contracts, pre wedding appointments and wedding program

  • Fiji Wedding legal documentation - Application for special license, birth certificates, divorce/death/witness consent/single status certificates (as required)

  • Holidaying in Fiji recommends sourcing styling items and favours direct from your chosen resort and/or supplier in Fiji. This will make for less stress and more room in your luggage! Check out our vendor directory on the I was Married in Fiji website for more details.

FOR YOUR FIJIAN HONEYMOON / HOLIDAY

  • Underwear

  • Sleepwear

  • Day - Keep it casual and light ie. shorts &  t-shirts, dresses (include a modest outfit suitable for visiting villages)

  • Evening - Smart casual ie. Maxi dresses, collared shirts

  • Pool - Swimming costumes, cover ups, boardshorts

  • Workout gear - If you're so inclined!

  • Something a little warmer - One outfit is enough!

  • Hats, sunglasses

  • Footwear - Thongs, sandals, closed shoes (depending on your travel plans!)

  • Favourite book!

Just Married

IF YOU HAVE BABIES / CHILDREN

  • Nappies/swim nappies, wipes, formula, bottles, bottle brush, sterilising tablets/container suitable for sterilisation, baby food

  • Dummies, wrap, favourite teddy

  • Underwear

  • Sleepwear

  • Day - Keep it casual and light ie. shorts &  t-shirts, dresses (include a modest outfit suitable for visiting villages)

  • Pool - Swimming costumes, cover ups, boardshorts, pool floaties, goggles

  • Something a little warmer - One outfit is enough!

  • Hats, sunglasses

  • Footwear - Thongs, sandals, closed shoes (depending on your travel plans!)

  • Stroller/pram/baby carrier

  • Colouring in books, pencils, reading books, small toys, tablet/charger (loaded with new apps/videos!)

TOILETRIES / FIRST AID

  • Shampoo/Conditioner

  • Soap

  • Toothpaste/toothbrush

  • Deoderant

  • Feminine hygiene products

  • Hair brush/hair accessories

  • Shaving equipment/accessories

  • Make-up

  • Perfume/cologne

  • Sunscreen

  • Insect repellant

  • Paracetamol/Children's Paracetamol (or equivalent)

  • Band aids

  • Contraception

  • Any eye/ear/gastro/over the counter medications (just incase!)

FYI - This list does not include food items. 

Holidaying in Fiji has not included food items in our packing list, we always recommend buying local upon arrival. Should you wish to take food items to Fiji, please do check the Fijian Quarantine policy for a comprehensive list of restricted and prohibited goods and remember - Declare all food items upon arrival!

Tip - You may also like to take donations for the local village/School. 

All school equipment ie. stationery supplies, pencil cases, excercise books, reading books, wall charts and backpacks are highly appreciated.

Essential items such as sandals/thongs, ladies bras, baby clothing/supplies and personal health products are always needed.

Sporting equipment is always well received.
